Serge’s career is composed of an extensive amount of roles and industries including leaders in food, promotional clothing, air transport, construction, pumping and telecommunication. His past functions included sales, marketing research, project control and project management under the PMI standards and Lean Six Sigma methodology. His typical assignments are currently MS Project, Lean Six Sigma, and Project Management training and coaching, Train-the-Trainer training delivery, 5S training & event facilitation, Kaizen and Work Smart (aka Work-Out) sessions facilitations, and skills inventory gap assessments.

Over the last 10 years in project management and training delivery, Serge Therrien has developed and delivered a dozen Lean, Six Sigma and Project Management related courses ranging from 1 to 80 hours across North America. In addition to managing projects of all sizes for Air Canada, Honeywell HBS, ITT Industries and Bell Canada, he produced a training video on Kaizen event organization and an Introduction to Project Management manual. He has facilitated fifteen 5S events to 500+ employees, delivered over 900 hours of project management related training and 1000 hours of Lean & Six Sigma related training such as Six Sigma Green Belt, Growth for Sales (GFS) and Train-the-trainer across North America.

Serge holds an Executive MBA, a Second Cycle Diploma in Management Consulting and a Bachelor in Business Administration. He is PMP certified, Lean Expert Certified, Green Belt DMAIC and GFS certified and Black Belt trained (using General Electric standards). He is fluent in English and French.

Anil Gupta, Senior Partner at Gespro Solutions (anil.gupta@gesprosolutions.com)

As Director, Process Transformation at Bell Canada from 2006 to 2009, Anil Gupta was part of the team responsible for rolling out and implementing Lean Six Sigma at an enterprise-wide level. He worked as a Master Black Belt coach with several end to end process transformation teams assisting them with six sigma methodology, analysis, lean thinking, adoption of change and project execution. He also led Black Belt training, Green Belt training and other Lean Six Sigma courses.

Under his guidance projects delivered over $7 Million in EBITDA benefit from reduced rework in the plant, reduced hand offs, better capacity utilization, reduced calls and elimination of waste. In addition, these projects reduced missed commitments by 30% thereby improving customer experience and satisfaction & reduced cycle time by as much as 70% in processing orders and resolving customer complaints.

As a part of the implementation group, Anil guided the Executives and the Steering Committee on building a strategy for Lean Six Sigma adoption at Bell Canada.

Prior to Bell Canada, Anil worked as a Master Black Belt with MDS Diagnostics – Canada’s largest medical diagnostics and life sciences company. He led the deployment of Lean Six Sigma and supported a $50 Million streamlining of the Chemistry testing section of the laboratory.

As a Black Belt at Maple Leaf Poultry for three years, Anil worked on a number of operations, marketing, supply chain & optimization, purchasing, sales and microbiology projects. His work reduced New Product Introduction cycle time by over 50%; reduced purchasing costs by over $400,000 annually & decreased micro-organism counts by 25% in finished product.

Anil earned his Black Belt certification with Starwood Hotels & Resorts and led the deployment of Six Sigma at The Westin Harbour Castle Hotel, Toronto. He worked on a number of projects at the hotel and divisional level for over three years and trained over 1000 employees in Six Sigma concepts.

Anil is a certified Master Black Belt from the Six Sigma Academy, Scottsdale, Phoenix and has an MBA degree from the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario. He is also a certified administrator of the Myers Briggs Personality Type indicator.

He teaches the Masters Certificate Six Sigma Black Belt Course & Lean for Service Organizations Course at the Schulich School of Business, York University, Toronto.
